I have always had an interest in people - who they are, what they do, how they behave.... and more recently, what makes
them ill and what keeps them healthy.
I first considered a career change after visiting an osteopath.
In 30 minutes I went from being barely able to move, to having more bodily mobility than I remembered for years. I marvelled
at how good it must be to help people so absolutely, so quickly, and entirely naturally - without any
medication or pills at all.
I originally trained in Reiki in the mid-90s. After an increasingly stressful life
in IT, I decided I had to put my own health first so followed up on my Reiki training to gain my Practitioner Level certificate.
From my sporting life I already knew the benefits of massage and realised that Reiki and Massage complemented
each other very well.
I found a Holistic Massage class that gave a more rounded treatment than traditional
massage, and attended further training on more advanced massage techniques so I could address even
more problems.
I later trained in Bowen Technique, which is a soft-tissue manipulation, giving similar results
to osteopathy and chiropractic but using a very gentle touch.
I now have all the tools to help people shake
off the ills, injuries and negativity that much of modern life can bring upon them, so that they too can get on with enjoying
all that is positive in this world.
Qualifications
I trained to 2nd Degree
in the Usui System of Reiki in the mid-90s with Richard Paterson, finally pursuing it to Practitioner Level (2nd Degree) with
Ros Hurst of Farnham.
My Holistic Massage and Pregnancy Massage training was under the tutelage of Ina
Jansen at the School of Natural Therapies based in Richmond, and is to ITEC Level 3, which is again a practising level.
Additional massage training has been there and at Alison Perrott's SEED Institute in Fleet.
I trained with Ellen Cobb of Farnborough to gain my Practitioner Certificate in Bowen Technique.
I am a Member of, and insured through, the Complementary Therapists Association (MCThA), and a member of both the Bowen
Association UK (BAuk) and the UK Reiki Federation (UK Reiki Fed).
Finally, I am proud to be one
